COMPETITION/RULES/ETC.:

Based on our last several years’ attendance, we can readily accomplish a complete round-robin schedule in one day and still dismiss early enough to give those driving home that same day a few hours of daylight.  There will be NO playoffs for tie win/loss records, rather we will use the total points scored for the day for the tied teams to break any ties.  If total points are also tied, then we will use the results of the match in which the two teams competed.  (I realize there is some difference of opinion as to the best way to break a tie, but as long as everyone knows the method selected well ahead of time, there should be no problem.)  We will use the rules as printed in the Official Quiz Guidelines and amended by the Coach’s Appeal and Judges’ Ruling/Vote.  (I realize this amendment has stirred quite a bit of controversy, but it is officially in effect and we’ll abide by it.)

 OFFICIALS:

Hopefully we’ll get two (or more) certified/qualified officials from each team and, while I am certainly hopeful, this will not be my first day “at the rodeo.”  Certified and qualified Quizmasters and Judges are essential to our program, and I will touch base with each district coordinator regarding these positions.  Coaches, please do what you can to have your “best” clear their schedules for this event.

If you have questions, if I have overlooked anything, or if you see a problem with what I have listed here, please contact me right away. I’m looking forward to a smooth and enjoyable day for all involved.  Thank you for your investment in JBQ and in the lives of the children we serve.
